Simple iPad Stand

While sitting at my desk, I often use my iPad to review videos, listen to music,
or watch videos made by others. But it is pretty useless lying flat on my desk so
I found myself often propping it up on my laptop. This worked OK, but the laptop
wanted to tip backwards when I did this. Enter this simple iPad stand. The idea
came from a business card holder I was given a number of years ago, and the shape
is inspired by the iPad itself.

Like most of my projects, most measurements are best guess and compare. I did
measure a couple of times to have a general idea. But when you consider how many
different covers there are for the iPad, or how many different types of tablets there are, it makes it impossible to say just what measurement will work for you.

Jeep Doors Wall Hangers

The nice thing about Jeeps is the ability to take the doors and top off. However, storing the doors is a real pain. After one of my doors tipping over in the garage putting a dent in itself, I decided to take care of the problem. You will notice there are enough hangers for another complete set of doors. My wife has a Jeep as well. Her doors will hang here too.

The hangers are standard three point hangers found at the local hardware store. Where I also found the 2x3 lumber and screws.

Quick and Easy Pico De Gallo

I like fresh Pico De Gallo, especially when the ingredients come from my own garden. This year's garden almost not going to happen because we moved to a new house, but I managed to get some ingredients this year. The jalapeno peppers were a bit mild but large, the onions were full of flavor but small, and I had to buy tomatoes and cilantro. But despite all that, it came out pretty good!

My basic recipe is a guess at best. Go with whatever tastes good to you!
2 table spoons lime juice
2 table spoons kosher, sea, or fresh ground salt

The follow is a ratio. I increase or decrease these depending on the size, flavor, and heat.
It experiment! This is just a starting point!

2 Roma Tomatoes
1 Medium White Onion
1 Jalapeno
1 Cup Chopped Cilantro (about 1 bunch from grocery store)

slice the tomatoes and jalapenos to remove the seeds.
Chop everything up, mix everything up. put it in the fridge for 24 hours. It's great fresh, but even better the next day!

Simple White Board Marker Shelf

I have a small whiteboard in my home office which I use for planning or making quick notes. It is great but it didn't come with a shelf to rest the markers or the eraser on. This meant the markers and ereser either sat on my desk, bookshelf, or window sill. Not great places and not really near the board. So taking a piece of poplar I had sitting around I cut it a couple times, glue it, stain it, attach some magnets to it and there you have it. A marker shelf.

Fixing Debbie's Lamp

Debbie picked up this lamp more than a decade ago but it is still a nice looking lamp.
Having survived puppies chewing through the cord two separate times, it didn't do so
well during the move to our new house. This is a quick video of me repairing the cement base with some epoxy, putting in a new cord, and finally lighting it up with an LED bulb.

Hello World. Again. :-)
I like to make stuff, build stuff, and share stuff. Just like a million other people on YouTube. For the last 35 years or so I've always thought about making short videos, now with cameras built into our phones, cheap computers to edit things with, and free places to share them like YouTube, I figured, why not!
